Jaume Darbra Fa is a multidisciplinary and independent artist based between Cologne and Murcia.

 

As a freelance flutist, Jaume works internationally in the field of contemporary music and visual arts. His commitments have taken him throughout Europe, America and Asia, performing in the most important venues, festivals and institutions, such as WienModern (Austria), November Music, STEIM, Gaudeamus Muziekweek (Netherlands), Mixtur (Spain), Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Snape Maltings
(UK), Harvard University (USA), Manifeste Festival, IRCAM (France), Musikfest Berlin, ZKM (Germany), Lucerne Festival (Switzerland), Daegu International Contemporary Music Festival (South Korea), Banff Center for Arts and Creativity (Canada), International Composition Institute of Thailand (Thailand), Universidad Nacional de La Plata (Argentina) and has collaborated with Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Marina Abramovic, Cirque du Soleil, Romain Bischoff, B. C. Manjunath, Robert Henke, among others.

 

In addition to collaborating with renowned orchestras such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra, WDR Sinfonieorchester, Orchestre Radio Philarmonique de Radio France, Gürzenich Orchester Köln, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, he is dedicated to contemporary music. He has premiered works by composers of his generation and by renewed composers such as Simon Steen Andersen, Rebecca Saunders, Unsuk Chin, Enno Poppe, Malin Bång and Alexander Schubert, and has worked with several contemporary music ensembles, Ensemble Modern, Ensemble Recherche, Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Ensemble Musikfabrik, Ictus ensemble, Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra, among others.

 

Jaume has studied flute in Barcelona with Júlia Gàllego, Live Electronics and Karnatic Music in Amsterdam with Jos Zwaanenburg, Marcel Wierckx, Jorge Isaac, Hidde de Jong, Rafael Reina, Jonás Bisquert and has been part of the academias from Ensemble Modern (Frankfurt) and the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia (Rome).
